Centrify’s Free Offering, Centrify Express, Adds UNIX Support and Enhanced Deployment Capabilities
Centrify Corporation, the leader in securing and auditing access to cross-platform systems and applications through Active Directory, today announced the release of Centrify Suite 2010 Update 2 which extends support to over a dozen new UNIX and Linux platforms, bringing the total of non-Microsoft platforms that Centrify bridges into Active Directory to over 260. Centrify has also added UNIX support to Centrify Express, Centrify’s free offering for Active Directory-based single sign-on, and has enhanced Centrify DirectManage Express, its centralized deployment solution.
«Centrify makes organizations more agile and efficient by consolidating identities across the industry’s broadest range of system and application resources deployed both on premise and in the cloud,» said Frank Cabri, vice president of marketing for Centrify. «Furthermore, Centrify’s ability to get users to login as themselves via their Active Directory username across a heterogeneous environment–versus sharing root and other privileged accounts–enables those same organizations to better govern privileged users who have the keys to the kingdom for those resources.»
The Centrify Suite now supports more than 260 versions of UNIX, Linux and Mac OS X, with new additions including the latest versions of the supported operating systems. Centrify Suite now supports:
- CentOS 4.8, 5.4, 5.5
- Citrix XenServer 5.5 & 5.6
- Scientific Linux 4.8, 5.4, 5.5
- Mandriva 2010.1 one
- Mandriva Enterprise Server 5
- Novell OpenSUSE 11.3
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 beta 2
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Desktop 6.0 beta 2
- OpenSolaris 2009.06
- VMware ESX 4.1
Centrify has added Solaris and OpenSolaris support to Centrify Express, Centrify’s free offering for Active Directory-based authentication and single sign-on to cross-platform systems. Centrify Express has added all of the Linux platforms listed above (with the exception of Citrix and VMware) to its long list of supported Mac and Linux platforms with more platforms to be added. Centrify DirectManage Express, a key component of Centrify Express that automates the discovery, readiness, and deployment of the Centrify Express agent for easy integration with Active Directory, has also been enhanced.
