Technical System Engineer

As a System Engineer you will be involved in a centralised support team based in Barcelona whose responsibility is to provide 2nd line technical support services to Computing customers. You will have to manage complex customer IT solutions, located across multiple Data centres in Europe, pro-actively and effectively responding to incidents and requests assigned to your team from 1st level support.
Your main tasks would include:
– Remotely Troubleshoot faults, Detect Problems, fulfil customer technical service requests
– Escalate to 3rd level if appropriate – Maintain contact with Customers according to priority and SLA
– Ensure customer satisfaction and help develop strategies for continual
– Improvement of service quality.
– Native French/German/English/Spanish/Italian with excellent English.
– At least 3-4 years of previous experience in Technical support, preferably as System Engineer in at least, one of the following areas:


  • UNIX: AIX.
  • LINUX: RHEL 5.
  • Shell Scripting.
  • MYsql and/or Oracle administration and support.
  • Apache/Tomcat.

  • Windows 2003.
  • Windows Server 2008
  • IIS5.0 & 6.0
Good to have: 
– Network and Security skills, IT Certifications
– Excellent customer facing skills
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Strong decision skills and close attention to details
