Job Opportunity: PhD Position in hydrodynamic and sediment modelling in coastal areas – GKSS

The PhD study is embedded into a large integrated project («Wissenschaftliche Monitoringkonzepte für die Deutsche Bucht»). The work will focus on hydrodynamic and sediment modelling in coastal areas of the German Bight in the North Sea. Essential qualifications are diploma or a comparable degree in oceanography, physic, mathematic, meteorology, biology, geophysics or related scientific field, experience in scientific computation (e.g. UNIX/LINUX, FORTRAN, MATLAB or C/C++) and good skills in written and spoken English. Background in numerical modelling is advantageous. We expect creativity and independence, the ability to work and communicate within a team of scientists from different disciplines.
